EDGEWATER, N.J. – The Yeshiva University men's tennis team earned a convincing Skyline victory in its regular season finale, defeating the United States Merchant Marine Academy by a score of 9-0, at the Binghamton Racquet Club on Tuesday evening. Yeshiva has clinched the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Skyline Conference Championships, finishing the regular season with a 7-0 record in league play (12-7 overall).
The Maccabees extend their conference winning streak to 37 matches, dating back to 2014. This marks YU's fifth straight unbeaten season in Skyline play, during the regular season.
"In spite of being down two starters for the match, the team came to play today," Yeshiva University head coach
Jon Rubinstein said. "Everyone stepped up, knowing that this was for another undefeated regular season. As a coach, knowing I can rely on my bench in these crucial situations gives me and the rest of the team peace of mind."
The Maccabees won all three doubles flights by scores of 8-3. Freshman

Jeremy Brody began Yeshiva's strong play with a win at the second position. Junior
Lior Brik and freshman
Meir Melamed followed with a victory at the third position. Senior
Mikey Ozery and freshman
Samuel Edery concluded doubles play with a win at the No. 1 spot.
Brik opened singles play with a convincing victory at the third flight, 6-2, 6-2. Ozery dominated both sets at the No. 1 position, by scores of 6-1, 6-1. Cohen came out on top in a competitive No. 2 singles battle, 6-2, 7-6. Junior
Alexander Kalb cruised to a win at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-2, while Brody was victorious at the fifth flight, 6-2, 6-4. Junior
Yoni Sacknovitz concluded the match with a victory at the No. 6 position, 6-1, 7-5.
The Maccabees will host a Skyline Semifinal match on Wednesday, May 1, at the USTA National Tennis Center. More details will be announced in the next couple of weeks.
