POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's fencing team competed in the Vassar College Invitational, at Walker Field House, on Sunday afternoon. The Maccabees earned a win over the Hawks of Hunter College, 17-8.
YU's sabre team earned a narrow 5-4 victory over Hunter, highlighted by a victory from both freshman
Noam Ben Simon and sophomore
Jonathan Laredo.

Aden Lyons, sophomore
Alexander Siegman, and newcomer
Natanel Lewis each won two out of three bouts to lead the Maccabees to the win over the Hawks.

William Wolff each won a bout to propel the epee team to the victory over Hunter.
During the afternoon, Yeshiva dropped team duels to Vassar College (18-9), Sacred Heart University (25-2), Drew University (26-1), Cornell University (26-1), Stevens Institute of Technology (24-3), and Denison University (24-3).
Lewis won two out of three foil matches against Denison, while also earning a win over Vassar, Cornell, and Stevens. Lyons claimed a foil win against both Vassar and Denison. Siegman also notched a victory in foil over Drew and Stevens.

Jonathan Werta won an epee battle against both Vassar and Sacred Heart. Wolff notched an epee victory against Denison.
Junior
Benjamin Bruder added a sabre victory against Stevens, while Laredo clinched a sabre win over Sacred Heart.
The Maccabees will compete in the MACFA "A" vs. "B" event at Hunter College, on Sunday, November 20. The action begins at 9:00 a.m.
