CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Yeshiva University men's fencing team competed in the Eric Sollee Invitational, on the campus of Massachusetts Institute of Technology, on Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva dropped team duals to MIT (26-1), Brandeis University (26-1), Boston College (26-1), Brown University (27-0), New Jersey Institute of Technology (26-1), and Stevens Institute of Technology (23-4).
Leading the way for the Maccabees during the event was junior epee fencer
Jonathan Werta who won three bouts. Each of those three wins came against MIT, Brandeis, and Boston College. Rookie
Natanel Lewis also had a successful day using the epee weapon as he went 2-1 against Stevens.
Freshman
Noam Ben Simon won two duals, one against NJIT and the other versus Stevens. Fellow rookie
Aaron Bonert claimed an epee battle against the Ducks.
Yeshiva will compete in the MACFA Group "B" Round Robin, on the campus of Stevens Institute of Technology, next Sunday. The action begins at 10:00 a.m.
