NEW YORK, NY - Wrapping up an impressive regular season, the Yeshiva women's tennis team has clinched the No. 4 seed in the Skyline Conference playoffs.
 
Ending the season with a 2-4 record in Skyline play, the Maccabees beat out Purchase College, Sarah Lawrence College and Mount Saint Mary College for the final spot in the postseason bracket, with the Macs' 6-3 win over Purchase early on in the season proving crucial in conference seeding.
 
"I'm very proud of this year's team, especially the way they battled after a long holiday break," said Head Coach Ira Miller on the team's accomplishment. "They played two teams close enough in 5-4 losses to gain the tiebreaker as the Skyline fourth seed.  A special shout out to our bottom three singles players: Sarah Liederman, Anna Laufer, and Sarah Grunseid, who have been the backbone to all of our wins.  Our three at the top: Shira Adler, Liana Friedman, and Micka Mamoun have been good enough to hold down their spots and were especially forceful in the tiebreaking match against Purchase.  Onward to the playoffs!"
 
Rematching with their final regular season opponent, the Macs will face off against No. 1 seed St. Joseph's University Long Island on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at 5:00 p.m.
