BALTIMORE – The Yeshiva University men's fencing team competed in the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association (MACFA) "B" vs. "C" meet, on the campus of Johns Hopkins University, on Sunday afternoon. Yeshiva dropped team duels to the College of William & Mary (20-7), the United States Naval Academy (23-4), University of Maryland (18-4), Johns Hopkins University (27-0), and Haverford College (26-1).
Sophomore
Jonathan Laredo led the way for the Maccabees by winning five sabre bouts, including a perfect 3-0 record against William & Mary. He was also won a bout over both Navy and Maryland.
Also in sabre, freshman
Noam Ben Simon picked up a victory against William & Mary, Navy, and Maryland.
Freshman
Aden Lyons claimed a foil victory over both William & Mary and Navy.
Junior
Jonathan Werta won a pair of epee bouts, one against William & Mary and the other against Navy. Rookie
Aaron Bonert won an epee matchup against William & Mary.
Yeshiva will compete in the MACFA Championships, on Sunday March 5, on the campus of Drew University. The action begins at 9:00 a.m.
