MADISON, N.J. – The Yeshiva University men's fencing team competed in the Mid-Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association (MACFA) Championships, on the campus of Drew University, on Sunday afternoon.
Leading the way for the Maccabees was freshman
Noam Ben Simon, who won three sabre duels. He earned a 5-3 victory over Rowan University, defeated Hunter College, 5-2, and was victorious over College of William & Mary, 5-3. Junior
Benjamin Bruder earned a hard-fought victory using the sabre weapon over Rowan, 5-4
In epee, freshman
Aaron Bonert won a pair of bouts, one over Hunter, 5-3 and the other against Rowan, by the same score.
Rookie
Aden Lyons also competed in the MACFA Championships for the Maccabees, using the foil weapon.
Fencers who qualify will compete in the NCAA Northeast Regional, on the campus of Harvard University, next Sunday. The action begins at 9:00 a.m.
