NEW YORK, NY - Representing both Yeshiva men's and women's basketball in the national award conversation, the Maccabees picked up another pair of honors when Daniella Bessler and Zevi Samet were named to D3hoops.com's First-Team All-Region Team for Region Three.

The Maccabee duo is joined in this prestigious honor by a number of athletes representing other schools, including: SUNY New Paltz, Vassar, St. John Fisher, Skidmore, Oswego State, Clarkson and Farmingdale State.
 
Rounding out an already successful YU career, Bessler saved arguably her best season for last. Starting all 20 games she appeared in, the Massachusetts native led the Skyline in scoring at 19.2 points per game, while shooting .418 from the field. Being properly rewarded for her outstanding play, she ran away with Skyline Conference Player of the Year honors, while also locking down a top spot on the All-Conference First-Team.
 
A superstar through and through, Samet had a season for the ages while wearing blue and white this year, guiding his Maccabee squad to the Skyline Championship while averaging 22.7 points per game (best in conference, third best nationally). The Monsey native overcame a squad ravaged by injury, becoming the fastest player to ever join the Yeshiva 1,000 point club. For his efforts, he has been named Skyline First-Team All-Conference, NABC Second-Team All-Region, and a finalist for the Jostens Trophy, one of ten nationwide.
