HOBOKEN, NJ - Traveling down to Stevens for the second time this month, the Yeshiva Men's Fencing Team took part in the MACFA B vs C meet on Sunday, Feb. 16th.
The Maccabees crossed swords with: The College of William and Mary, the University of Maryland, Navy, Johns Hopkins University and Haverford College.
With the results, the Macs are now 1-21 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Yeshiva's day started off slow, falling 22-5 to William and Mary in round one.
- The Maccabees' fortunes shifted in round two. Thanks to excellent swordplay from Aden Lyons and Judah Greenbaum in foil, as well as Avy Nakache in sabre, YU took down Maryland, 15-12, locking in their first win of the season.
- However, the Macs' success did not hold in the later rounds. Yeshiva fell to Navy, 18-9 in round three, to Johns Hopkins 27-0 in round four, and to Haverford 21-6 in round five.
UP NEXT
Taking on their final meet this season as a full squad, the Macs will travel to Drew University for the MACFA Championship on Sunday, Mar. 2.
