NEW YORK, NY – The Yeshiva men's basketball team shot 66% from the field for the night, including 54% from behind the arc and 79% from the line, earning their second conference win of the season. The Maccabees improved to 3-2 (2-0) while Bard dropped to 0-3 (0-1).
Martin Leibovich was perfect from the field (6-6), perfect from 3-pt. range (2-2), and perfect from the line (4-4) as he finished with 18 points to lead the Macs. Omer Haim also recorded 18, shotting 6-8 from the field and 3-4 from behind the arc. Gil Bash scored 11, the day after being named to the All-Skyline Honor Roll. 13 Maccabees scored in the contest.
Yeshiva led the entire game, never allowing Bard to pull even or take the lead. Omer Haim opened scoring with a 3 pointer, and the Maccabees went on a 22-9 run over the first 8 minutes of play. The Macs led by as much as 19 in the half, and ended with a 47-29 advantage going into the locker room.
A 4-0 to open the second gave Yeshiva a commanding 22 point lead, and they never looked back. Bard would get as close as 18 down on several occasions, but the Maccabees always had an answer. Yeshiva led by as much as 25, and ended with the 24 point victory.
Justin White led the Raptors with 25 points on 7-14 shooting. Forrest Alvarez added 12 for Bard.
The Maccabees will travel next to Mount Saint Vincent on December 1st, for an 8:00PM game.
