(Bronx, NY) – Junior Martin Leibovich (Buenos Aires, Argentina/ORT II) scored a game-high 18 points and added eight rebounds, four assists, and three steals, and junior Yechiel Boussi (Fairlwan, NJ/Frisch) added 10 points on 4 for 5 shooting, but the Yeshiva University Men's Basketball team lost its fourth straight game, 70-49 to CUNY powerhouse Lehman College on Monday night at Lehman. With the loss, Yeshiva is now 6-11.
Lehman stormed ahead early, leading by 14-6 eight minutes into the game before Leibovich and Boussi pulled YU back into the game, and a Leibovich three-pointer with 11:59 to play in the opening half made it 14-11. However, a 13-2 Lehman run pushed the Lightning edge into double-digits, and the hosts led 36-20 at halftime.
The second half saw much of the same as Yeshiva was never able to get past a 14-point deficit en route to the 21-point loss.
Neither team had a stellar shooting night as Yeshiva shot 40% while Lehman shot 47%. Yeshiva was also outrebounded 39-27 as Lehman grabbed 20 offensive rebounds.
Yeshiva returns to action on Wednesday night when the Maccabees travel to Old Westbury for a crucial Skyline Conference game. Tip-off will be at 8:00 p.m.
