Kahana's 30 kills lead Yeshiva past St. Joseph's in Men's Volleyball

(Brooklyn, NY) - Junior David Kahana (Silver Spring, MD/MJBHA) enjoyed one of the finest matches of his career, registering an incredible 30 kills and adding eight digs, while hitting .442, and senior Joseph Bajtner (Skokie, IL/ICJA) added 33 assists as the Yeshiva University Men's Volleyball team broke a three-match losing streak with a 3-0 win on Monday night at St. Joseph's. With the win, Yeshiva is now 8-12 overall.

Yeshiva swept the match 30-15, 30-11, and 30-11 to defeat the Bears for the second time this season.

Kahana was spectacular, registering 30 of Yeshiva's 40 total kills for one of the best individual performances in the history of the Yeshiva University Men's Volleyball program. His 30 kills were on 52 attempts as he was simply dominant throughout the evening. Also for YU, Bajtner added five service aces to his 33 assists, and sophomore Jack Voystock (Harrisburg, PA/Susquehana Township) added a match-high seven service aces.

Overall, Yeshiva hit .359 and combined for 21 service aces and 23 digs.

The Maccabees return to action on Thursday, March 19 when YU hosts Webb Institute at 8:00 p.m. The match will be Senior Night for the YU Men's Volleyball team.
