Men's Volleyball improves to 6-6 with sweep of Polytechnic

(New York, NY) - Junior David Kahana (Silver Spring, MD/MJBHA) registered his fifth double-double of the 2009 season, an 18-kill, 11-dig effort, and junior Zanvy Grauman (Silver Spring, MD/Berman Hebrew) had an outstandin match as the Yeshiva University Men's Volleyball team improved to 6-6 with a 3-0 win over Polytechnic University on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at Polytechnic.

Yeshiva swept the match 30-20, 32-30, and 30-26 for their second consecutive win and the Maccabees have now tripled their win total from a year ago.

Overall, the Maccabees hit an outstanding .400 with Kahana hitting .480 and sophomore Rafi Herskovitz (Hamilton, Ontario/Or Chaim) hitting .556 during an outstanding overall performance as he had seven kills, four service aces, four digs, and four total blocks. The Maccabees also combined for 35 digs and seven team blocks.

Also having a terrific match for Yeshiva was senior Joesph Bajtner (Skokie, IL/ICJA), who registered 39 assists.

The Maccabees return to action on Sunday, Feb. 22 when they host SUNY New Paltz and Bard College for a 1:00 p.m. tri-match.
