(New York, NY) - Junior David Kahana (Silver Spring, MD/MJBHA) registered his fifth double-double of the 2009 season, an 18-kill, 11-dig effort, and junior Zanvy Grauman (Silver Spring, MD/Berman Hebrew) had an outstanding match as the Yeshiva University Men's Volleyball team improved to 6-6 with a 3-0 win over Polytechnic University on Tuesday, Feb. 17 at Polytechnic
Against SUNY New Paltz, Yeshiva fell 30-11, 30-15, and 30-12 as YU hit -.131 and allowed 35 New Paltz service aces. The Maccabees combined for only nine total kills as four Maccabees had two kills apiece. Senior Joseph Bajtner (Skokie, IL/ICJA) registered six assists, and YU combined for 23 digs.
Yeshiva responded with a much better effort against Bard, but the Maccabees fell 30-17, 30-20, and 31-29 for their second straight loss. The Maccabees hit .195 as a team and had 37 combined digs and 5.5 team blocks. Bajtner had 29 assists and Grauman registered five kills and seven digs.
Yeshiva returns to action on Monday, Feb. 18 when the Maccabees travel to Purchase College for an 8:00 p.m. start.
