Bard/CCNY sweep Yeshiva in Men's Volleyball tri-match

(Annandale-on-Hudson, NY) - Junior Zanvy Grauman (Silver Spring, MD/Berman Hebrew) combined for 20 kills, and 12 digs, and fellow junior David Kahana (Silver Spring, MD/MJBHA) had a double-double and two solid matches but the Yeshiva University Men's Volleyball team fell to 2-4 with losses to CCNY and Bard College during a Sunday afternoon tri-match at Bard. With the Bard College loss, YU is now 0-2 in Skyline Conference play.

Yeshiva dropped the opener to CCNY, 3-2, marking the second straight match the Maccabees lost a match in five sets. Yeshiva won the opening set 30-21 before dropping the next two sets, 30-19 and 30-23. The Maccabees stormed back for a 30-21 win in the fourth set, before CCNY survived a 15-13 battle during the fifth and deciding set.

Grauman had 15 kills and five digs and hit .147 for the match, while Kahana had 15 kills and 11 digs. Also for YU, junior David Katz (Suffern, NY/MTA) had 10 kills and five digs, while senior Joseph Bajtner (Skokie, IL/ICJA) registered 26 assists and had eight digs.

Overall, Yeshiva hit .111, combined for 8.5 total blocks, and 36 digs.

The second match saw Yeshiva drop its second straight Skyline Conference contest as Bard scored a 30-13, 30-22, 30-24 win. Grauman had 10 kills and hit .375, while Katz and Kahana had eight kills apiece. Bajtner added 18 assists.

YU returns to action on Tuesday night when the Maccabees host Polytechnic for an 8:00 p.m. Skyline Conference match.
