NEW YORK, NY- Yeshiva shot 38 percent from the field, including 3-13 from three point range, in Thursday night's loss to Skyline Conference foe SUNY Farmingdale (2-2, 1-0 Skyline). The Macs were defeated by the Rams 76-52 which dropped their record to 1-6 overall and 1-3 in the Skyline conference.
Yeshiva started off strong against the Rams, as senior guard
Chen Biron scored seven of Yeshiva's first eleven points, including a three pointer with 13:34 to go in the first half that gave Yeshiva an 11-10 lead. Unfortunately, that would be the last lead for the Macs as John Dabney and the Rams proved to be too much. With Yeshiva down three with 8 minutes to go in the first half, Dabney went off and scored 16 straight to increase the lead to 34-23 at half time.
Dovie Hoffman and
Yoni Eckmann got Yeshiva out to a strong start in the second half as a block by Hoffman would lead to the first of two straight baskets by Eckmann. Hoffman would add a jumper of his own with 17 minutes to go in the second half to cut the lead to seven, but the Rams proved to be too much for Yeshiva. The Rams would take advantage of the tough shooting night of the Macs and slowly take over the game, eventually winning 76-52.
Hoffman had another solid night as he led Yeshiva with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks. John Dabney would lead all scores with 23 points for the Rams. Yeshiva is back in action Saturday night against Mount Saint Vincent at 8 pm in Riverdale, NY.
