NEW YORK, NY – The men's volleyball team improved to 5-4 on the season with two wins Sunday afternoon at Medgar Evers. They defeated Washington Adventist 3-0 (30-12, 30-18, 30-22) in the first match, and Medgar Evers 3-0 (30-12, 30-15, 30-13) in the second match.
In the first contest with Washington Adventist,
David Kahana had 15.5 points with 13 kills, 5 digs, and a block assist.
Raphael Herskovits followed with 12 points on 10 kills and 2 aces.
Zanvy Grauman had 10 points with 7 kills, an ace, and a blocked shot.
Joseph Bajtner led the team with 33 assists.
In the second match against the host (Medgar Evers), both Kahana and Grauman had 16 points to lead all players. Kahana finished with 15 kills, an ace, and 3 digs. Grauman had 12 kills, 2 aces, a blocked shot, and 2 block assists. Bajtner once again led the team with 33 assists while
Elchanan Margolis led Yeshiva with 6 digs.
Yeshiva has a 4-match week, starting with NYU-Poly at home on Wednesday night, followed by Cooper Union at home the next night. Both matches are at 8PM. The team will then travel to Sage College on Sunday for a tri-match with Southern Vermont.
