NEW YORK, NY – The Yeshiva baseball team hosted NYU-Poly Tuesday and Wednesday nights in Skyline Conference single contests, but dropped both by scores of 4-2 and 11-8. The losses drops the Macs to 0-5 (0-2) on the season.
In game 1 Tuesday night,
David Kesselman pitched and impressive 7 innings, giving up 7 hits and 4 runs (3 earned). He struck out 6 of the 29 batters faced.
Binyamin Cooper and
Adam Volk each had 2 hits. Last weeks Skyline Rookie of the Week
Elie Baratz was 1-4 with a triple and a run scored.
Jeremy Schwartz and Volk each had an RBI.
In last night's game, the Macs held an 8-7 lead going into the 8th inning, but couldn't hold onto it and fell 11-8.
Benjamin Susswein was the starting pitcher, throwing 6 innings and striking out 10 batters. He gave up 7 runs (4 earned) and pitched for a no-decision.
Yoseph Ciment came in on relief and gave up 4 runs and striking out 4 in the loss.
Multiple players had a 2-hit game for the Macs, including Volk, Schwartz, Baratz, and
Zachary Weiner. Elie Baratz batted in 3 runners while hitting a single and a double. Adam Volk scored 3 times for the Macs who were hurt by 6 errors in the field. As a team, Yeshiva had 10 hits and struck out only 8 times.
Yeshiva will play a conference double header against St. Joseph's today starting at 4PM. The game is being played on the campus of Farmingdale State College.
