Volleyball Nearly Knocks off Bard in Skyline Semifinals

NEW YORK, NY – The men's volleyball team nearly defeated Bard in the Skyline Semifinals Sunday afternoon, but ultimately fell 3-1. The Raptors went on to defeat Mount Saint Vincent in the Championship game 3-2. The Macs stand at 12-13 overall on the season.

Yeshiva took the first set 30-27 then lost the second set 25-30. Tied at 1, the Maccabees built a 27-20 lead in the 3rd set and were on their way to a 2-1 advantage, but Bard allowed only one more point while scoring 10 to take the third set 30-28. The Raptors went on to win the 4th set 30-25 to advance to the Championships.

David Kahana scored 21 points on 18 kills, an ace, and 2 blocked shots. Joseph Bajtner had 45 assists and two block assists. Zanvy Grauman followed with 14 points on 13 kills and 2 block assists. Kahana led the team in digs with 16.

The game against Albertus Magnus Monday evening has been canceled. Maritime College will come to Yeshiva for an 8PM game instead.
