NEW YORK, NY – The men's volleyball team traveled to NJCU for a NECVA tri-match Sunday, and came home with a 1-1 split. In the first game against NJCU, Yeshiva fell 0-3 (12-30, 17-30, 16-30). In the second game against Sage College, the Macs earned their first win in the NECVA conference, 3-1 (30-22, 28-30, 30-25, 30-25). Overall, Yeshiva stands at 10-9 on the season.
Against NJCU, Raphael Herskovitz led the team with 7.5 points off 6 kills and an ace.
Naftali Rosenthal followed with 4 points on 4 kills. Rosenthal,
Jack Voystock, and
Meir Graff led the team with 4 digs each.
Joseph Bajtner finished with 16 assists.
This marked the second time Yeshiva and Sage have gone at each other, the first ended with a narrow 3-2 victory for Sage. This time, Yeshiva took care of Sage in 4 games, losing only the second by 2 points.
David Kahana had 22.5 points, leading the team with 20 kills and 20 digs.
Zanvy Grauman followed with 17.5 points, recording 13 kills, 2 solo blocks, and a dig.
Joseph Bajtner had 55 assists and was the only Maccabee to record an ace.
Yeshiva is on the road for four games this week, the first against NYU-Poly on Tuesday at 8PM. The team will travel to Webb Institute on Thursday for an 8PM game, and finish the week at Bard on Sunday for a tri-match with New Paltz. Those games begin at 1PM.
