Men's Volleyball ends week in first place in the HVMAC

Yeshiva Men’s Volleyball Goes 2-2 in Conference Loaded Week

New York, NY – The Yeshiva men's volleyball team was busy in conference play this past week. The Maccabees went a perfect 2-0 versus Hudson Valley Men's Athletic Conference members St. Joseph's Brooklyn and Cooper Union and 0-2 versus Skyline Conference members Sage and Bard. The week moved Yeshiva's record to 6-5 overall.
 
Yeshiva opened up their HVMAC season Monday night against St Joseph's Brooklyn (0-3, 0-1 HVMAC). The Maccabees won in straight sets 25-14, 25-7, 25-18. Senior Raphael Herskovits led the team with 12 kills and Junior Meir Graff recorded 31 assist. Yeshiva experienced the same success Thursday night as they defeated Cooper Union (0-1, 0-1 HVMAC) 25-18, 25-12, 25-23. Senior Jack Voystock recorded 4 kills and a team high 13 digs and 3 blocks.  The wins start the Maccabees 2-0 in the HVMAC and in first place in the conference.
 
On Sunday Yeshiva faced off against Skyline conference members Sage and Bard. Yeshiva played Sage (8-7, 2-1 Skyline) first in the double duel and fell 10-25, 13-25, 17-25. Junior Elchanan Margolis recorded 5 kills and a team high 5 digs. Graff added 17 assists. Yeshiva then played Bard (11-7, 3-0 Skyline) in the second game and lost 8-25, 15-25, 15-25. The two losses move Yeshiva's Skyline record to 1-3 and puts them into fourth place.
 
Yeshiva is back in action Thursday night in a home match against NYU-Poly at 8 PM.
