New York, NY- The Yeshiva baseball team opened up their 2012 campaign with a doubleheader against Stevens Institute of Technology. The young Yeshiva team got off to a great start, in the top of the first, as sophomore
Jake Frankel and senior
Elie Baratz drove doubles off the left field wall. Frankel's double was his first career hit and RBI as he drove in
Joel Feigenbaum and gave Yeshiva 1-0 lead. Starting pitcher
Adam Volk continued that momentum to the mound as he did not let up a hit in his first three innings of work. Unfortunately, the Yeshiva pitching staff struggled to throw strikes after that allowing 28 walks and 15 hit batters in the two games. Yeshiva lost 26-1 and 21-0.
Jake Frankel led Yeshiva as the sophomore went 3-6 with 1 double and 1 RBI on the day.
Yeshiva is back in action this Sunday as they host Purchase at Taft high school. The double header will start at 12 PM.
