NEW YORK, NY – The men's volleyball team was at home hosting Webb Institute and Albertus Magnus for a tri-match Sunday afternoon. The day started with the Macs defeating Webb 3-1, and ended with the Macs falling 3-0 to Albertus Magnus. Yeshiva ended the afternoon with a 7-14 record.
Against Webb, the Macs looked as if they would make quick work of the HVMAC school, winning the first set 25-7 and had no attack errors. However, Webb came back and took the next set 25-18 and played Yeshiva close over the final two sets. Yeshiva won those two 25-18 and 25-20. Leading the way was
Jack Voystock with 13.5 points on 10 kills, an ace, and 2.5 blocked shots. Yeshiva recorded 12 total team blocks, and only had 12 attack errors in the game.
In the final game of the afternoon, Albertus Magnus overpowered Yeshiva, winning in straight sets, 25-12, 25-18, 25-14.
David Wagner led Yeshiva with 10 digs, and
Kevin Katz recorded a team high 11 assists in the match.
The next match for Yeshiva will be at home against Sarah Lawrence on Thursday, with a start time of 8PM.
