NEW YORK, NY – The men's volleyball team stayed perfect in HVMAC play, with a 3-2 (25-21, 21-25, 25-20, 20-25, 15-9) win over Cooper Union Tuesday evening, sealing the top seed in the upcoming HVMAC Championships. The match lasted nearly 2 hours as the teams were neck and neck during each set. The Macs' record improved to 9-15 (6-0 HVMAC) while Cooper Union fell to 4-4 (4-2 HVMAC).
Back on the court after his recent marriage,
Raphael Herskovits led the Macs with 24 points, coming on 21 kills, 2 aces and a blocked shot. He also recorded a team high 20 digs.
Adam Rhodes had 40 assists on the night, on top of 17 digs and 3 kills.
Jack Voystock added 11 kills for the Macs, who had a 24% attack rate and 5 total team blocks.
Elchanan Margolis and
William Kessler recorded 14 and 11 digs, respectively.
Yeshiva will look to remain unbeaten in conference play tonight, as they travel to St. Joseph's Brooklyn for an 8PM game. The Macs will have one remaining conference game after tonight, the 26
th at Webb Institute, before the HVMAC Championships on the 29
th.
