NEW YORK, N.Y.— The Yeshiva men's basketball team was defeated by Baruch College 68-49 at the Max Stern Athletic Center on Thursday evening.
The loss leaves the Maccabees at 0-2 on the young season, while Baruch improves to 3-1 overall.
The visiting Bearcats were in front from start to finish, and led by as much as 24 points in the second half.
Yeshiva was led in scoring by
Benjy Ritholtz with 18 points, on 7-for-17 shooting. He added six rebounds and one block in the contest. Meanwhile
Shlomo Weissberg chipped in with a double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. The Maccabees also got a strong performance from Yisroel Feld with nine points and seven assists.
Baruch was led by Granville Gittens and Joshua Vital with 14 points each. Vital added eight rebounds and three blocked shots, while Gittens connected on 5-for-7 from the field.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
Baruch had a 42-24 advantage on points in the paint and committed eight turnovers in the contest.
Yeshiva earned 16 assists on 20 made field goals.
The Maccabees outrebounded the Bearcats 43-33.
