Box Score FARMINGDALE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva men's basketball team was defeated in a Skyline Conference game on Tuesday evening, losing to Farmingdale State College 59-45.
The Maccabees were led by Benjamin Ritholtz with 17 points, while
Yisrael Feld added 12.
Shelby Rosenberg added seven rebounds for Yeshiva.
Farmingdale State was led by Terence Henderson with 17 points, while Donald Lawes added 10 points and five blocked shots.
The host Rams led from start to finish. Farmingdale State opened the game on a 10-2 run to take control early. The Maccabees hung around and narrowed the deficit to two points on several occasions. But Farmingdale State made critical buckets each time to keep Yeshiva at bay, and the Rams went into halftime up 29-22.
Farmingdale State kept the Maccabees at arm's length distance during the second half. During the final stanza the Rams led by as much as 14, and Farmingdale State led 45-31 with 10:29 to play.
Yeshiva countered with a 9-2 run to cut the deficit in half with just under seven minutes remaining. A jumper by Rosenberg with 6:59 to go made the score 47-40.
But Farmingdale State weathered the storm, and the Rams answered with a quick 4-0 spurt to go back up by double figures. Yeshiva narrowed the deficit back to nine in the final two minutes, but no closer.
The loss now leaves Yeshiva at 3-7 (2-4 Skyline), while Farmingdale State is now 5-3 (2-1 Skyline).
