BRONX, N.Y. - Senior infielder Elisha Rudolph (Lincolnwood, Ill.) went 3-for-6 Sunday afternoon at Taft High School, pacing the Yeshiva University baseball team in its Skyline Conference doubleheader against St. Joseph's College of Long Island.

The visiting Golden Eagles swept past the Maccabees, 10-0 and 15-0 -- both in seven innings.

In the opener, Rudolph's slow roller down the third-base line allowed him to get to second base after an off-balance throw to first sailed wide. He moved up 90 feet after a groundout, but was unable to come home before the side was retired.

Graduate student Elie Baratz (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.) rapped a lead-off double down the left-field line to start the bottom of the fifth inning, and advanced to third one batter later on a sacrifice bunt by freshman Max Nagger (Boston, Mass.).

In the nightcap, YU's 1-through-4 hitters combined for four of the club's five hits on the day -- including two by Rudolph, one by junior shortstop Jake Frankel (Tarzana, Calif.; ) and senior Adam Volk (W. Orange, N.J.). Both Frankel and Volk had one stolen base apiece, while sophomore Simon Lindenblatt (Atlanta, Ga.) picked up a pinch-hit single in the bottom of the seventh stanza.

Junior right-handed reliever Zevi Weisinger (Teaneck, N.J.) was effective on the hill, firing 3.2 innings of one-hit, three-walk ball while allowing one unearned run and striking out one hitter.

Head coach Albert Baez's Maccabees are back in action at Taft High School Tuesday night (April 16), when they play host to a crucial 7:45 p.m., City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) game against visiting Lehman College.
