Yaniv Lautman (Cleveland, Ohio) has now hit safely in three straight games, and six of his last eight outings for the Yeshiva University baseball team, which fell in both ends of a Skyline Conference doubleheader Wednesday afternoon against Mount Saint Mary College.
The Knights took both contests in seven innings, by scores of 16-1 and 14-1, respectively.
Lautman went 3-for-6 with a double on the afternoon, including a 2-for-3 display in the second contest.
In the first contest, freshman
Ephraim Botwinick (Riverdale, N.Y.) tossed three innings of four-hit, one-walk, scoreless relief in his college pitching debut.
Also in the opener, seniors
Adam Volk (W. Orange, N.J.) and
Elisha Rudolph (Lincolnwood, Ill.) teamed up for the Macs run, as the former plated his classmate on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth inning.
In the nightcap, it was junior
Davi Brick (W. Hempstead, N.Y.) laying down a perfect squeeze bunt to score senior
Yossi Ciment (Brookline, Mass.; 2-for-3, 2B) in the bottom of the second frame.
Head coach Albert Baez's Yeshiva side is back in Skyline action Friday morning (April 19), when it travels to Farmingdale State College on Long Island for a 10 a.m. twinbill.
