Box Score 2 BRONX, N.Y. - The Yeshiva University baseball team's season came to an end Friday afternoon at South Field, as the Macs dropped a City University of New York Athletic Conference (CUNYAC) doubleheader at the hands of John Jay College of Criminal Justice.
The Bloodhounds won the opening contest by an 8-0 count, before capturing a 7-1 decision in the nightcap.
For YU, right-handed pitcher
Joel Feigenbaum (Chicago, Ill.) struck out eight hitters over 4.2 innings pitched in the twinbill, ending the 2013 campaign with a school single-season-record 48 punch-outs over 31.1 innings. The previous single-season-high for the Maccabees was 43, which was set in 2011 by David Kesselman (over 64.1 innings pitched).
Meanwhile, the twinbill marked the end of the careers of five YU student-athletes:
Yaniv Lautman (Cleveland, Ohio),
Adam Volk (W. Orange, N.J.),
Yossi Ciment (Brookline, Mass.),
Elisha Rudolph (Lincolnwood, Ill.) and
Elie Baratz (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.). Volk ended his career with a six-game hitting streak, while Lautman, who hit .315 in his senior campaign, wrapped up the season with a five-game streak at the dish.
