Box Score 2 BRONXVILLE, N.Y. - The Yeshiva University club softball team, competing for the first time in the 2013 campaign, wrapped up its inaugural season Sunday afternoon (May 5) at the Hudson Valley Women's Athletic Conference (HVWAC) Championships, held at Sarah Lawrence College.
The Maccabees took on top-seeded and eventual champion St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, while scoring eight runs before eventually falling by a 16-8 count in the consolation round at the hands of College of New Rochelle.
Sophomore
Merav Saden Barach (Teaneck, N.J.) and junior
Kayla Applebaum (Teaneck, N.J.) both reached base on walks twice against St. Joseph's, senior
Elisa Karp (Fair Lawn, N.J.) walked once against the Bears.
Applebaum finished one homer shy of the cycle against the Blue Angels, going 4-for-4 with two runs scored and as many runs batted in. Senior
Meira Lerner (Sharon, Mass.) went 3-for-4 at the plate with two RBI, while Saden Barach and senior
Lindsay Wess (Los Angeles, Calif.) both went 2-for-4 with one RBI apiece. Junior
Deena Miller (Woodmere, N.Y.) scored two runs in the New Rochelle contest.
