Men's Basketball Falls to Mt. St. Mary in First Game in Almost a Month

NEWBURGH, N.Y.—  Playing for the first time in the 2014 calendar year and for the first time since December 28, the Yeshiva men's basketball team was defeated on the road 88-58 at the College of Mount Saint Mary (CMSM) Thursday night.
 
The loss leaves the Maccabees at 4-8 (2-5 Skyline) this season, while CMSM improves to 12-4 (8-1 Skyline) on the year.
 
Yeshiva was led by Yisrael Feld with 18 points. He connected on 7-for-13 from the floor and had three assists. Shlomo Weissberg added 12 points, eight rebounds and two blocks for Yeshiva. The host Blue Knights were led by Chris Pisciotta with 20 points on 7-for-8 shooting from the floor and 2-for-2 from three point range. Teammate Joe Stabach added 16 points for CMSM, while Donte Howell added 13 points and had eight assists.
 
CMSM led the contest from start to finish. As a unit, the Blue Knights shot 33-for-55 from the field, including 18-for-26 in the second half. The Blue Knights led 41-25 at halftime and led by as much as 31 points in the second half.
 
Yeshiva made 22-of-49 shots in the game, including 15-for-28 in the second half. CMSM had a 26-12 advantage on points off turnovers and 42-26 on points in the paint.
 
Yeshiva is back in action on Monday for a home contest against NYU-Poly at 8 p.m.
