BRONX, N.Y.— The 2014 men's volleyball season got underway Tuesday evening in dramatic fashion, but the Maccabees fell on the short end of a five set thriller as Yeshiva lost to Lehman College 3-2 (25-16, 21-25, 25-18, 19-25, 12-15).
 
The Maccabees were led by Benjamin Mann with 15 kills (four errors) on 34 attacks for a .324 attack percentage, with 10 digs. Jared Rechinitz added eight kills and 14 digs, while Eliakim Gartenberg had seven kills.  Adam Rhodes added 30 assists.
 
Lehman was led by Jaleel Lino with 27 kills and 15 digs, while Miguel Gallarado had 14 kills and 26 digs.
 
Yeshiva is back in action on Monday for a Skyline Conference match at home against New Jersey City University at 8 p.m.
