Men's Basketball Plays Low Scoring Contest at Brooklyn in Non Conference Game

BROOKLYN, N.Y.— The Yeshiva men's basketball team was defeated on the road in a non conference game at Brooklyn College 60-45.
 
Yeshiva was led by Yisrael Feld with 17 points, while Benjy Ritholtz added eight points.
 
Brooklyn College was led by Jamel Gist with 19 points and five rebounds.
 
The Maccabees and the host Bulldogs played a close low scoring game in the first half, and the opening stanza saw six lead changes and three ties.
 
Yeshiva held a 19-18 lead with 3:50 to go in the first half before Brooklyn closed out the stanza on a 4-0 spurt to go into halftime leading 22-19.
 
The Maccabees scored the first three points of the second half to tie the score at 22. But Brooklyn retook the lead and never trailed again. The Bulldogs led by as much as 17 late in the second half before the game ended.
 
Brooklyn held a 38-18 advantage on points in the paint and 19-8 on points off turnovers.
 
Yeshiva connected on 18-of-41 shots (43.9 percent) from the field in the contest, while Brooklyn was 28-for-65 (43.1 percent).
 
Yeshiva is back in action on Saturday evening for a home contest against Sage College at 8:30 p.m.
