Men's Basketball Falls to Tough Conference Team

NEW YORK, N.Y.— The Yeshiva men's basketball team was defeated by Mount Saint Mary's College 63-37 in a Skyline Conference tilt at the Max Stern Athletic Center Wednesday evening.
 
The loss drops the Maccabees to 6-18 (4-13 Skyline), while Mt. St. Mary's is now 19-5 (15-2 Skyline).
 
Yeshiva was led by Benjy Ritholtz with 11 points and six rebounds, while Shelby Rosenberg came off the bench and added 10. Shlomo Weissberg grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds for Yeshiva.
 
Mt. St. Mary's was led by Donte Howell and Chris Pisciotta with 17 points each, while Joe Stabach added 11.
 
Mt. St. Mary's opened the game on a 16-2 run en route to leading from start to finish. The Blue Knights never led by less than eight points the rest of the way. Yeshiva pulled to within that margin with 3:53 to go in the first half as the Maccabees trailed 22-14.
 
Mt. St. Mary's finished out the first half outscoring Yeshiva 11-5 to lead 33-19 at halftime.
 
The Blue Knights held a double digit lead the rest of the way en route to the win.
 
Yeshiva outrebounded the Blue Knights 38-37, while Mt. St. Mary's held an 18-14 advantage on points in the paint.
 
Yeshiva closes out its 2013-14 season with a home game against Maritime College on Saturday at 8:30 p.m.
