Baseball Faces Tough Pitching in Game Against Maritime College

BRONX, N.Y.— The Yeshiva baseball team fell 13-0 at home to Maritime College in a game played at Taft High School on Tuesday evening.
 
Maritime College starting pitcher Nick Sarna pitched a perfect game, while striking out five to earn the win.
 
The visiting Privateers scored a run in the second inning to take a 1-0 lead. Maritime then scored four in the fourth and two in the sixth before getting six in the seventh to go up 13-0 after six and a half frames.
 
Maritime's Joe Longo went 2-for-6 with a triple, a run and six runs batted in to lead the way for the Privateers. Teammates Tom Bauer and Pat Kirk each had two hits and both scored three times.
 
Yeshiva's Zachary Feld took the hill for the Maccabees, pitched 4.2 innings and allowed five runs (two earned) on two hits. He struck out three batters.
