BRONX, N.Y.— The Yeshiva baseball team fell at home to John Jay College 15-3 on Tuesday evening.
The Maccabees got three hits in the contest, including one each from
Jake Frankel,
Elan Paul and
Samuel Rhodes.
The visiting Bloodhounds scored a run in the top of the first and five more in the second to lead 6-0 after two frames. Yeshiva came back in the bottom of the second with two runs to cut the deficit to four. The Maccabees' first run came when Perl stole third before scoring after the throw by the John Jay catcher went errant. Later in the frame,
Joseph Miller scored after another John Jay error. All in all, a combined fourteen errors were charged in the contest as Yeshiva made eight errors and John Jay six.
The Maccabees' other run came in the eighth inning off the bat Perl who lifted a sacrifice fly to score Paul.
Jonathan Gardner suffered the loss after going 6.0 innings and allowing nine runs (three earned) on 11 hits. He fanned four batters.
John Jay was led by Ronald Barillas who was 4-for-6 with three runs and three runs batted in.
