PURCHASE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva University baseball team was defeated in two games by the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) in a doubleheader on Friday morning. The Maccabees lost 13-0 in game one and 24-0 in game two.
In game one, the Maccabees got one hit each from
Zev Friend and
Jonathan Berger. In the second game,
Jake Frankel accounted for all three Yeshiva hits and was 3-for-3 with a pair of doubles and a stolen base.
In the first game, CMSV scored two runs in the first inning and another two in the second to lead 4-0.
The visiting Dolphins led 7-0 after the sixth inning, but a seven run seventh by CMSV broke the game open.
Three members of CMSV had two hits each in the first game, including Casey Surdi, Josh Sharpe and Chris Sideli.
In game two, the Dolphins scored 12 runs in the first inning to lead by a dozen before the Maccabees came to the plate.
Steven Giustino led the way for CMSV by going 4-for-5 with two triples, two runs and three runs batted in.
