Box Score 2 BRONXVILLE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva softball team was defeated by the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) in both games of a doubleheader, losing the first game 18-0 and the second game 17-0.
Yeshiva is now 0-3 on the season, while CMSV is 13-2.
In the first game, the host Dolphins scored 11 runs in the first inning to establish a comfortable lead, en route to the game one win. Yeshiva got four hits in the opener, including one each by
Kayla Applebaum,
Rachel Mirsky,
Deena Miller and
Lieba Swartz-Brownstein. The Maccabees loaded the bases in the fourth inning with one out when Applebaum, Mirsky and Miller hit back-to-back-to-back singles, but Yeshiva could not punch a run home. Swartz-Brownstein's hit came in the third inning.
In the second game, CMSV's Kathleen Davis pitched a perfect game, while striking out 12 to complete the sweep.
Yeshiva is back in action on Sunday for a doubleheader at the College of New Rochelle at 11 a.m.
