Softball Competes in First Ever Doubleheader, Falls to College of Mount Saint Vincent

BRONXVILLE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva softball team was defeated by the College of Mount Saint Vincent (CMSV) in both games of a doubleheader, losing the first game 18-0 and the second game 17-0.
 
Yeshiva is now 0-3 on the season, while CMSV is 13-2.
 
In the first game, the host Dolphins scored 11 runs in the first inning to establish a comfortable lead, en route to the game one win. Yeshiva got four hits in the opener, including one each by Kayla Applebaum, Rachel Mirsky, Deena Miller and Lieba Swartz-Brownstein. The Maccabees loaded the bases in the fourth inning with one out when Applebaum, Mirsky and Miller hit back-to-back-to-back singles, but Yeshiva could not punch a run home. Swartz-Brownstein's hit came in the third inning.
 
In the second game, CMSV's Kathleen Davis pitched a perfect game, while striking out 12 to complete the sweep.
 
Yeshiva is back in action on Sunday for a doubleheader at the College of New Rochelle at 11 a.m.
