Box Score 2 WAPPINGERS FALLS, N.Y.— The Yeshiva University baseball team lost both games of a doubleheader at the College of Mount Saint Mary (CMSM), losing 6-2 in game one and 6-1 in game two at Dutchess Stadium Sunday.
In game one, CMSM, with three runs in the second, two in the fifth and one in the seventh, had a 6-0 lead after seven innings.
Yeshiva came back with two runs in the top of the eighth. First
Ephraim Botwinick scored from third on a wild pitch for the Maccabees' first run of the day. Then
Jake Frankel scored from third on a ground out by
Zachary Feld.
Yeshiva had three hits in the opener, including one each by Frankel,
Elan Paul and
Dovid Rosenbaum.
CMSM was led by Vinnie Carminati who was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, a run batted in and a run in the first game.
In the second game, the Maccabees registered two hits, including one by Frankel and the other by
Jonathan Berger.
The host Blue Knights scored two runs in the bottom of the first to go ahead by a pair. CMSM scored another in the third, before adding another two in the bottom of the fifth to lead 5-0.
Yeshiva got on the board with a run in the top of the sixth when Frankel scored from third on a groundout by Feld. CMSM scored one more run in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-1 lead before winning.
CMSM was led by Luis Rivera who was 1-for-1 and scored three times, while Matt Cahill scored a run and had two runs batted in.
