Box Score BRONX, N.Y.— The Yeshiva baseball team lost to Maritime College, 11-1, in a Skyline Conference contest at Taft High School on Wednesday evening.
The Maccabees are now 0-19 (0-14 Skyline) this season, while Maritime College is 10-13 (7-3 Skyline).
The game started out on the right foot for Yeshiva who led 1-0 after the first inning. After the visiting Privateers went down 1-2-3 in the first inning, Yeshiva got a run across when
Jonathan Berger reached on a Maritime error as
Joseph Miller scored.
In the top of the second, the Privateers capitalized on an early Yeshiva fielding miscue en route to an eight run inning. After the first batter in the second inning reached on an error, Yeshiva proceeded to walk four batters, hit another two and allow three singles.
From there, Maritime scored a run in the third and two in the fifth to take an 11-1 lead.
Yeshiva had two hits in the game, both of which came off the bat of
Zachary Perl who was 2-for-3.
Maritime was led by Brian McLaughlin who was 2-for-4 with two doubles and three runs batted in. Teammate Chris Stewart was 2-for-2 with a triple and three runs.
Yeshiva is back in action on Friday for a doubleheader against Albertus Magnus College at 10 a.m.
