Box Score BRONXVILLE, N.Y.— The Yeshiva softball team closed out its 2014 season with a make-up conference game against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn and lost 13-0 on Tuesday afternoon at Mary LeVine Field on the campus of Sarah Lawrence College.
The Maccabees officially end its first season as a varsity sport with a 6-8 overall record and a 2-1 record in Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) play. Yeshiva finished in the runner up spot in the HVIAC postseason tournament.
In Tuesday's game against St. Joseph's-Brooklyn, the host Bears scored six runs in the bottom of the first inning and another six in the bottom of the second to take a 12-0 lead after two innings en route to victory.
Yeshiva recorded three hits in the game, and the Maccabees got one hit each from
Kayla Applebaum,
Merav Saden Barach and
Rebecca Kleiner.
St. Joseph's-Brooklyn was led by Cassandra Molinari with three hits and a pair of runs.
