NEW YORK, N.Y. – Thursday is a very special game night at the Yeshiva Maccabees will be hosting the 19
th annual Macs Madness event during the basketball doubleheader at Baruch College. The women's team will battle Old Westbury, beginning at 7:00 p.m. Approximately 25 minutes after that game ends, the men's team will take on Sarah Lawrence College.
All fans are encouraged to wear blue during this event. We will have special ceremonies during halftime of each game to honor our award-winning student-athletes. Yeshiva merchandise will be sold throughout the evening.
On the women's team, senior forward
Julia Owen leads the Maccabees in scoring, with an average of 10.7 points per game, and dishes out 1.4 assists per contest. Sophomore forward
Michal Alge grabs a team-high 11 rebounds per game.
The men's team enters tonight's contest winning its last two Skyline games. Yeshiva defeated Farmingdale State, 74-69, last Wednesday, and then earned a win against Purchase, 75-59, this past Sunday. Both of those wins came on the road. In Yeshiva's win over Purchase, senior forward
Shelby Rosenberg produced a double-double, by scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds. Junior forward
Michael Berg scored a game-high 18 points with five assists and two blocks.
