Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University women's basketball team suffered a hard-fought loss to Skyline rival, St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn by a score of 76-61, on Monday evening at the Hill Center.

The Maccabees
(0-10, 0-7 Skyline)Â had a 33-26 lead at the half, but the Bears
(2-9, 2-3 Skyline)Â Â came storming back in the second to take the victory.

For the game, Yeshiva was led by sophomore forward
Michal Alge who tallied her second consecutive double-double, with 13 points and 14 rebounds. Â Junior guard
Tess Blaustein scored 12 points, while senior guard
Ester Kerzner and junior forward
Simee Rosner each scored 11.

Yeshiva fell behind early in the game, 7-2, but Kerzner tallied back-to-back three-point plays. The first was on a field goal from beyond the arc, and on the second, she successfully converted a layup while being fouled. She hit the free throw and that would put the Maccabees up 8-7, with 4:25 left in the first quarter.

Senior forward
Julia Owen opened the second quarter by nailing a three-point basket to extend Yeshiva's lead to 20-12. Blaustein's layup gave the Maccabees their biggest lead of the game, 24-12, with 8:05 left in the half. Both teams went into the half with the score 33-26 in favor of the visiting team.

In the final 2:23 of the third quarter, the Bears went on a 10-4 run to take a 52-50 lead heading into the fourth quarter.

In the final stanza, Yeshiva was down by three, 58-55, with 7:06 left to play in regulation time. The Bears pulled away by scoring nine unanswered points in a span of 2:43 to put the game out of reach for Yeshiva. St. Joseph's went on to win the game, 76-61.

Yeshiva will be back in action on Wednesday, for a non-conference game against CCNY. The game will begin at 7:00 p.m. on the campus of Baruch College.Â
