Men's Volleyball Set for HVIAC Championship

NEW YORK, N.Y.— After finishing in first place in the regular season for the sixth year in a row, the Yeshiva University men's volleyball team has earned the No. 1 seed and is poised for another postseason Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) championship.

The Maccabees, by virtue of finishing 4-2 in HVIAC regular season play, ended in a tie for the top spot in the standings, and owned a tie-breaker over Pratt Institute to claim the No. 1 seed for the sixth straight season.

Yeshiva will play No. 4 seed Webb Institute at 6 p.m. on April 15, while No. 2 seed Pratt Institute with lock horns against No. 3 seed St. Joseph's Brooklyn at the same time. The two winners will then advance to the championship game at 8 p.m. All matches will be played at the Max Stern Athletic Center on the campus of Yeshiva University.

The Maccabees are looking to win their fourth title in six years. Besides their championship last season, the defending HVIAC champions claimed the top prize in 2010 and 2013 as well.
