Box Score BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's volleyball team suffered a non-conference loss to Pratt Institute in straight sets on Thursday evening. Set scores were 25-20, 25-19, and 25-18.
After dropping the first two sets, Yeshiva (0-5) got off to a strong start in the third, as a kill by sophomore middle blocker
Itai Guttman gave the Maccabees a 13-10 advantage. The Cannoneers (1-0) turned momentum into their favor by scoring nine of the set's next 10 points to put the Maccabees in a deficit they were not able to climb out of. Pratt went on to win the set and clinch the match.
Yeshiva was led by freshman middle blocker
Jonathan Korman, who slammed home six kills and helped anchor the defense with four digs. Sophomore right-side hitter
Mathew Rosenberg scored four service aces, while classmate
Max Glaser had a team-high 12 assists. Guttman and Glaser had two blocks each. Sophomore right-side hitter
Moshe Zippel had four kills and just as many digs.
Yeshiva will be back in action on Sunday, for a Skyline Tri-Match at St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn. The Maccabees will battle the host Bears at 11:00 a.m., and then take on New Jersey City at 1:00 p.m.
