Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's volleyball team fell to Bard in a non-conference contest, 3-1, at the Max Stern Athletic Center on Wednesday evening. Set scores were 25-11, 25-16, 25-27, and 25-10.
Leading the attack for the Maccabees (2-9) was sophomore right-side hitter
Mathew Rosenberg, who tallied a team-high seven kills, while senior outside hitter
Kolya Miller and sophomore middle blocker
Itai Guttman each slammed home five. Senior setter
Jorge Dabah had a match-high 18 assists and produced 11 digs. Miller helped anchor the defense with 11 digs, while sophomore outside hitter
Michael Klein helped neutralize the Raptors' (2-12) attack with nine of his own.
After dropping the first two sets, the two teams went back and forth in the third. Tied at 24, Rosenberg's service ace gave Yeshiva a set-point opportunity. After Bard tied it at 25, Yeshiva earned the next two points to earn the win and narrow the Raptors' lead in the match, 2-1. Momentum would not carry over into the fourth set for Yeshiva, as Bard won the stanza, 25-10 which clinched the match.
Yeshiva University will be a hosting Skyline Tri-Match on Sunday. The Maccabees will battle the Dolphins of Mount Saint Vincent at 11:00 a.m., and then take on the Sage Gators at 3:00 p.m. Sage and Mount Saint Vincent will face each other at 1:00 p.m.
