Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University men's volleyball team earned a Skyline Conference victory over St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, in straight sets, at the Max Stern Athletic Center on Wednesday evening. Set scores were 25-20, 25-22, and 25-20.
The Maccabees (3-11, 3-6 Skyline) got off to a sluggish start in the opening set, falling behind 13-7. Yeshiva slowly chipped away and tied the set at 10. Sophomore middle blocker
Itai Guttman slammed home back-to-back kills to put Yeshiva in front, 12-10. After a back-and-forth exchange, St. Joseph's (2-8, 1-6 Skyline) regained the lead 19-18. The Maccabees would turn momentum into their favor for good by going on a 6-1 run, capped off by back-to-back kills from senior outside hitter

Yeshiva got off to another slow start in the second stanza, quickly falling behind 8-2. The Maccabees had another run in them, as sophomore right-side hitter

Jonathan Korman combined for five kills to spark a 9-0 run for Yeshiva, putting the home team up 11-8. Later in the set, Miller slammed home yet another kill to give Yeshiva a set-point opportunity. A ball-handling error by the Bears put the Maccabees up 2-0 in the match.
In the third set, both teams battled tooth and nail. With Yeshiva narrowly hanging on to a 16-15 advantage, a kill by Rosenberg, followed by a service ace from sophomore outside hitter
Michael Klein, extended the Maccabees' lead to 18-15. With the home team up 23-20, Klein and Rosenberg combined for back-to-back kills to clinch Yeshiva's third Skyline victory of the season.
For the contest, Miller had a match-high 13 kills and helped anchor the defense with nine digs. Guttman produced six kills, while Rosenberg added five kills with eight digs. Klein had a match-high 10 digs, while senior setter
Jorge Dabah led all players with 30 assists.
Yeshiva will travel to Ramapo College on Sunday, for a Skyline Conference Tri-Match. Yeshiva will take on Sage at 4:00 p.m., and then battle host Ramapo at 6:00 p.m.
