Box Score NEW YORK, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University softball team fell to Baruch College, 17-6, at Fordham University on Tuesday evening.

Baruch (1-10) scored 13 runs in the last two innings to put the game out of reach for Yeshiva (2-7).

Senior pitcher
Rachel Mirsky took the loss, giving up six earned runs and striking out three hitters in seven innings for her eighth complete game of the season.

In the bottom of the first, the Maccabees scored three runs, all with two outs. Senior third baseman
Erin Potasnick drilled a single to score junior second baseman
Hannah Dubin and senior shortstop
Rebecca Kleiner that put Yeshiva up 2-1. She eventually scored on a single by senior outfielder
Rachel Siegel to extend the Maccabees' lead to 3-1.

After Baruch scored three runs in the top of the fourth to take the lead, Yeshiva tied it up in the home half of the fifth, thanks to an RBI groundout by Siegel that scored Kleiner.

Baruch would score seven runs in the sixth, and six runs in the seventh, to take a commanding lead, and put the game out of reach for Yeshiva. The Maccabees would not go down without a fight. With the bases loaded in the bottom of the sixth, Dubin walked to score sophomore first baseman
Michal Alge for the Maccabees' fifth run. Mirsky scored Yeshiva's sixth run thanks to an error at shortstop. It would not be enough as Baruch earned its first win of the season.Â

Yeshiva will be back in action next Tuesday, for a Skyline doubleheader against St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn, at Fordham University beginning at 6:30 p.m.Â
