Box Score 2 FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University baseball team dropped both ends of its Skyline Conference doubleheader to Farmingdale State, out on Long Island, on Friday afternoon. The Maccabees dropped game one, 23-1, while falling in the second game by a score of 11-3.
In the opening contest, Yeshiva struck first, as an RBI single by junior pitcher
Elan Paul scored junior shortstop
Josh Gurin, to give the Maccabees a 1-0 lead. Gurin and junior catcher
Shmuli Goldis drew walks during the frame. The Rams would respond by scoring 23 unanswered runs on their way to victory. During the game, Goldis and sophomore left fielder
Chad Shapiro produced singles, while senior third baseman
Zachary Perl and senior first baseman
Benjamin Barman each produced a walk.
In the second game, Gurin and Goldis each produced an RBI in the top of the third. Junior outfielder
Binyamin Bromberg and freshman catcher
Eli Profeta scored the runs for Yeshiva. In the top of the sixth, Perl stole second, while Goldis stole home for Yeshiva's (0-15, 0-5 Skyline) third run. It would not be enough, as Farmingdale (6-10, 2-0 Skyline) earned the sweep.
The Maccabees will be back in action on Sunday, for a Skyline Conference doubleheader, at Mount Saint Mary, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
