Softball Team Swept At Old Westbury

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. - The Yeshiva University softball team dropped both ends of its Skyline Conference doubleheader to Old Westbury, by identical scores of 9-1, out at Old Westbury on Friday afternoon.

In game one, Yeshiva got its lone run on an RBI double by sophomore first baseman Michal Alge, which scored senior pitcher Rachel Mirsky, who reached base with a single earlier in the inning. In the circle, Mirsky took the loss but pitched a complete game.

In the second game, senior catcher Annie Jaffe went two-for-two, including an RBI single that scored senior third baseman Erin Potasnick in the top of the fourth. Potasnick reached base on a single and stole second, earlier in the inning. It would not be enough, as the Panthers (4-4, 2-4 Skyline) earned the sweep. Mirsky pitched another complete game in the circle for the Maccabees (3-10, 2-6 Skyline).

Yeshiva will be back in action on Sunday, for a Skyline Conference doubleheader at Sage, beginning at 12:00 p.m.
