Box Score 2 NEWBURGH, N.Y. – The Yeshiva University softball team dropped both ends of its Skyline Conference doubleheader to Mount Saint Mary, at the Mount Saint Mary Softball Complex, on Sunday afternoon. The Maccabees dropped game one, 18-0, and fell in the second game, 12-4.

In the opening game, senior shortstop
Rebecca Kleiner produced a hit, while junior utility player
Hannah Dubin and senior outfielder
Rachel Siegel each drew a walk. Senior pitcher
Rachel Mirsky took the loss, but pitched a complete game in the circle.

In game two, the Maccabees (5-14, 2-10 Skyline) scored two runs in the top of the second, to grab a 2-0 lead. Senior third baseman
Erin Potasnick led the inning off with a single through the left side. She came around to score on an RBI double by senior first baseman
Michal Alge, which gave Yeshiva a 1-0 advantage. Two batters later, sophomore utility player
Liat Wasserman grounded to short, scoring Alge, to double Yeshiva's lead.

The Knights (10-7, 8-0 Skyline) countered by scoring five runs in the home half of the third to take the lead, 5-2, and they never looked back. The Maccabees loaded the bases in the top of the fourth. Kleiner earned an RBI, by drawing a walk to score Wasserman, to pull Yeshiva within two. However, Yeshiva would strand three runners at the end of the inning.

After Mount Saint Mary scored four runs in the bottom frame, Yeshiva got one run back in the fifth, thanks to an RBI single by Alge that scored Potasnick. However, it would not be enough as the Knights went on to win the game and earn the sweep. In the circle, Mirsky pitched her 18
th game of the season.

The Maccabees will be back in action on Wednesday, for a non-conference doubleheader at Rutgers-Newark, beginning at 6:00 p.m.
